Dragonletters and Ponygraphs

Chapter One

So, we were all standing there, around the table, gazing at the wonderful pie. It was truly beautiful and the aroma... well... let's just say it was enough to make a cactus and a rock fornicate.

Steve (CLICK ME TO SEE BLOG) was there, his eye's were fixated on the pie. It was a fresh moist and crisp pie. We knew it bared some sort of fruity goodness inside of it, but of the which we did not know. It was a strong aroma of apples, and blueberries and rhubarb and raspberries and something else.

There was something else in this pie that sat there that we could not figure out.

"WHAT DOTH EITH INNIT" said the post-medieval communicatively challenged David Derpison (CLICK ME TO SEE BLOG).

David Derpison was a strange lad. He wore a bucket as a mask, for reasons "thou cannot explainith". He was jolly, but sometimes jolly at inappropriate times. One time our gang was in a church, praying to the guys at blizzard to give us cataclysm beta keys when David Derpison shouts out "THE HOLY WATER IS STALE", immediately the priest tried to kick his ass, but David jumped onto a nun with his jousting stick and fractured the old priests pinky finger. David was in a coma for 3 months afterwards.

Mah New Phone - Samsung Galaxy S

So while I was out yesterday I checked by the vodafone store to have a lookey at a physical Samsung Galaxy. They said they would come in stock today and after checking my phone number they said I could upgrade right away! Which was good I've had my plan for almost 24 months and the costs are outdated.

Here is what I signed up for 2 years ago

$49 cap including $310 of calls, txt and data ($0.02/kb)

Now the plan is..

$59 cap including unlimited txt/pxt, $650 of calls,  3GB of data (excess 50c/mb) which is heeeaaaps better than what i had before.

I had a long distance GF that video calls HELPED ALOT throughout the relationship but they were friggen expensive as brew. No I have no clue how on earth I could ever cap myself without being on the phone 24/7.

Since it's an android I will browse the app market when I get home, hopefully I can turn this phone into a 3G modem, wireless N Dongle, Webcam and anything else that tickles my fancy.

Job Interview

I won't go on a huge rant like I did yesterday, I've got a job interview today so hence me prepping myself and not promoting my new blog.

I am however thinking about what I will blog in the following days, I know I talked about my dope-ass storage and linked a dvd ripping program (I didn't upload it, I just found it), so thinking I'll talk about tech-savy stuffs.

I love my computer, I'd hug it if it weren't so dusty. It's my guinea pig. I build it in January 2009, my first pc build.

Spec:
AMD Phemon 9550 2.2Ghz Quad Core
Gigabyte 790MX Motherboard - This died :(
Team Dark 1066mhz 2x2GB RAM
2 x 500GB Samsung HDDs 7200RPM
Asus 4850 512MB Graphics card
Cooler Master 650W PSU
Cooler Master Centurion Case
Vista 32bit Home Premium

That was my initial build. Since then I have slotted extra hard drives, added moar rams, changed OS. Every Time a change was made it would've been throughly researched and weighted up the Pros and Cons.

When my PC was bottlenecking the first idea I had was faster OS and more ram, as i loved alt tabbing out of games. Then I saw Solid State Drives... these were the bomb, but expensive.

The changes I made to my build include the following:

64 GB Solid State Drive for OS and some games (BFBC2)
Extra 1.5TB HDD (internal)
Windows 7 Home premium 64bit
Another 4GB of ram

Since the fresh install, I defrag and optimize my SSD weekly (fragments quickly), use CCleaner every few days to clean up space and clear registry.

Now I NEVER have any bottlenecks with my computer. I love it. I love being a nerd enjoying everything I config, then I see my sister and mum with their laptops (over a year and a few months old respectively) and they are complaining that they're going slow, internet dc's yada yada yada. I just get some milk and walk away with a grin on my face.

Problem, family?

LAN Content - DVD Ripping

Alright so I myself can't wait to (get a job) go to the GGF LAN on the 2-3rd of october.

Details if your an aussie are here -> www.lansmash.com <-

I looooooove lans. Can't get enough of them. It's like shoving a needle in my veins and being hooked up to heroin for the entire weekend.

Basically I love just leeching as much as I can (I also upload a fair dinkum) and then spending the next month sorting and categorizing all the TV/Movies/Docus/Games etc.

Finding out what's good and what's junk

My storage ain't that great right now. Looking to extend with another 2TB before the next LAN hopefully.

Currently my OS and a few steam games are running off C:, which is my SSD (Super Quick). Got the bad boy off ebay for $121 AU which is a bargain. Only problem is it's small. Which is cool, I haven't played many games recently (Killing floor / tf2 / hf2 ), it's the speed of windows booting up and bottlenecks that i'm worried about.

D: - Says it has movies but currently its just TV shows, I have over 1TB of TV and that will soon increase next LAN. This is why I need the 2TB heh, I'll fill the 377GB in a few hours.

E: - That was my original OS HDD, it's a RAID0 of 2x 500GB drives. Currently it's my bitch drive, which I load all my DVD rips onto and then sort them onto the other drives.

H: Elements - Portable drive 1TB has all my movies on it temporarily. Once I get the 2TB then movies are going onto D drive.

I: Jazzys Portable - This just has anime and documentaries on it and some programs applications.

So I've found out that my favorite series (Buffy / Angel) were not at the LANs. And a friend wanted me to get them, so since I had the DVDs I took matters into my own hands. I wanted to rip all DVDs that I did have as backup onto my storage devices.

I have found a good DVD Ripping software that i have uploaded at the end of this post.

Basically bypasses protection software and can rip straight to AVI files (worked better than mkvs)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NE58B94O  - It's an .exe file so your antivirus may think it's bad.

Remember only use this program to BACK UP your files. They aren't for sharing with other people.

Funny captcha

This is a legit blog. I had some guy tell me this was all a fraud, but he was mad as bro. I just want to let my followers know that I here to entertain and tinker, not to get rich quickly. That is so silly.

So I thought i'd lighten the mood with some funny captchas
